Had some rather bad experience with them:

Waited for about a week and some mails to get my account activated.

Then I didn't like the default security of the package. I could (without an intention to be evil) spy out other users config files -- including passwords etc.

I know that I could have fixed this for my own account. But this issue and the awfully long activation time withoun any feedback did it for me and I left grokthis.

I have used grokthis and their budget offshoot vpsvillage and they both worked well. Right now I'm using the vps village plan and am happy with them so I do think this is a reasonable vps choice for django hosting.

I tried setting up an account with them, due to such bad service it was ignored. I actually phoned the guy, after a long shpeel about something we ended the conversation.

Service is awful and unprofessional

I'm from GrokThis.net and I'm sorry to hear that we've had couple bad reviews. I'll admit that our turn-around on new account configurations is not always great and is something we've been working to improve. However, I strongly believe that we offer an extremely competitive product once it is up and running. In fact, I believe that we offer a unique, highly customized service. It is in part due to this customization that our account configurations are longer than average.

Regarding security, we take this very seriously. While prevention and being proactive about security is key, ultimately humans are at the helm and mistakes are occasionally made. We correct any such mistakes with the utmost urgency once discovered.
