Joyent Connector comes with a shared Web Hosting plan (Shared Accelerators). Our shared hosting plans represent what we believe to be the best tools for working on the Web, with features like PHP 5.2, MySQL 5.0, Ruby, Rails, Django, Lighttpd, Subversion, WebDAV, and much more included by default.

I've been running on one of their VPS-like "Accelerator" plans for a while now -- root access, set up whatever you like, so I'm using mod_python and PostgreSQL -- and been quite happy with the service.

I ran several site in textdrive. They were shared account and it did not go well. Things worked ok, but the interface was slow, proxying for lightty was a pain and it was just not that elegant. I am migrating to webfaction.com

django worked great out of the box but getting Lighttpd and Apache configured through their admin interface ( you don't really get root access on the cheapest plans ) was a pain in the butt. If you're willing to spend a week getting going, though, you'll have a solid, high-uptime host afterwards.
