I just signed up for slicehost and compared to vpslink (who I had for a day) they're a dream.
The minimum price for Slicehost may be inaquate because I had to pay three months in advanced.
The prepay was the reason why I went with vpslink first. I should of listened to my friends and went with Slicehost originally.

wonderful VPS hosting!

I'm running two sites on Slicehost, two different machines. One is PHP and the other is Django, but in both cases the machines are excellent. I'm on the bottom-of-the-line standard 256mb slice and they run great.
Nginx and mod_wsgi for me :)

A great place to host Django sites. Having Superjared on the Slicehost team is an added bonus. Jared is wonderfully helpfully and knowledgeable (coming from a Joyent/TextDrive background). Combine that with the fantastic tutorials on setting up a Slice I'm really happy with Slicehost.

These guys are great! I recently moved my blog to SliceHost and I am not sure if anything could have been better. Well maybe a beer while I was making the move, but you can't have everything ;) I highly recommend SH as they are very affordable and don't get in your way.

Absolutely first class hosting. I'm running a 1GB slice and it's been flawless.
The only catch is getting email setup, but I outsourced that to fusemail.com to solve it.

Best around, hands down. Don't waste your time elsewhere.

I've been hosting with them for a year and a half, running Django the whole time. They provide great support and as long as you can manage your own box, the sky's the limit.

Agreed - don't waste your time elsewhere. Slicehost works. A++++
PS: I'f you're moving up from crappy oversold shared hosting - you'll be amazed
Am using apache (worker mpm) with mod_wsgi daemon mode.

Love the service. Unfortunately I've been fairly unlucky and have had (in the last 6 months) no less than 4 "emergency reboots" due to faulty hardware. No idea if this is considered "average" for such providers, but I don't see others complaining so I assume not :-)
All in all, definitely worth the money...

I have 4 slices, one for each of my projects and they're completely awesome. I love the power that having a slice gives you. You'll never look at shared or virtual hosting the same again.
Definitely worth the money. Definitely worth learning how to find your way around 'nix.

I have been using a 4 month old slice from Slicehost and have not had a single problem at all. If you do have problems, they are always there to help you out as well as the community.
Highly recommended!

After almost 3 months with them i am proud to be their client. I tried many many other services like webfaction, linode or railsplayground but Slicehost "rules them all" at almost every aspect. Thay could hava a little bit faster network connection with europe or maybe even a datacenter in europe. I recommend them to everyone that knows their way with linux.

I've been using their service for a few months now an I'm very pleased. I know my way around Linux system administration and their services are a very good fit for my needs (I like to have full control of my server).
They have developed their own administration web site / framework which is simple and well designed, and they are constantly working to improve it.

I've had a 256MB slice w/ Slicehost for about two months now - running a production site & a handful of development projects.
Adore the AJAX console, web control panel & forums/support - USD$20/month is definitely worth it, and I see myself purchasing another slice for my database in the mid-term as well.

The best VPS on the web. THe 20$ or more you pay is totally worth. You have the power to install any piece of software and run. I have a little complicated process which spawns memory so I moved to slicehost & its awesome. Make sure you follow right tutorials and you 'll have an hazzle free environment. Go for it!!!
